        Basic certificate coruse for palliative care auxiliary nursing

       The first batch of medical nurses have successfully completed their three months long training program called Basic Certificate Course in Palliative care and Auxiliary Nursing (BCCPAN) at Samhathi on 18 July 2009. The training was organized by Samhathi in association with the Institute in Palliative Medicine, Kozhikode and Alleppey Medical College. The training was the outcome of the initiative of Dr. Prof. Sairu Philip of Alleppey Medical College. It was led by Dr.Mathews of NNCP while the coordination of was carried out by Mrs.Sheeba Mathews. Ms.Soja Jose was responsible for the daily affairs of the program under the direction of Mrs.Annie Ausgustine, Coordinator of Health Programs at Samhathi-India. The twelve medical nurses completing the course represent various Local Government Bodies (LGBs) and NGOs involved in palliative care program in south Kerala. This was the first certificate course organized at Samhathi campus as part of its efforts to promote palliative care program in Kerala state. The next batch will commence training by mid September this year at Samhathi campus.
