Home Equipping Program
As part of the Habitat Development Program of Samhathi, there is an ongoing sub-program to equip the families with necessary household articles as it is not enough to provide a family with a house but it is also necessary that the family supported also has necessary household articles for a smooth and comfortable living. According to this sub-program, the needy families are given the opportunity to obtain necessary furniture and other household articles at lowest price from recognized companies on an installment basis. They are provided with soft loans from Samhathi’s People’s Bank or other financial institutions to make such purchases through Samhathi and pay back the soft loan over a period of three years. So far Samhathi has provided articles worth more than two millions in the area. For poor families this is a big opportunity to get necessary articles for their families at lowest price, lowest interest and affordable period of time to pay back.
